Island Tour - RT46
This is a guided tour of the Carambola Botanical Gardens. An experienced naturalist will accompany the guests on an easy walk through the jungle garden, offering insights into the variety of hummingbirds and tropical plants along the way. Following a visit of the Butterfly & Birds Park and then Shopping in West End Village. Relax while watching the Garifuna Dancers perform at our meeting point, a beautiful bar built on the water.
Your tour starts off with a half-hour drive to Carambola Botanical Gardens. This is the best developed inland reserve on the Bay Islands. The walkways and paths are well-prepared, with boardwalks being used in some places. Your naturalist guide will provide you with a myriad of details during an easy walk through the jungle garden path, as you stroll through forests of ferns, spices, and flowering plants (water and fresh fruit are offered in a rest area).
The next stop is a visit in the Butterfly and Birds Garden where you can appreciate a live exhibition of some of Honduras most colorful butterflies, see the different stages of the butterfly life cycle, and take some pictures with parrots and other birds standing right in your arms!
Then you reach West End Village for a complimentary refreshment at our meeting point built on the water, while watching an ethnic group perform their dance. Enjoy some free time at your leisure to spend for relax or shopping along the village.
Note: The stop at West End Village may be replaced with a stop at Pirate Bay-Las Palmas Village due to construction on the current road conditions.
