Full Description
Barcelona is a city where old and new architectural styles live together in harmony. The most predominant architectural style found allover Barcelona is the early 20th century Modernism Art, or also known as Art Nouveau. The most impressive are Gaudi’s buildings. The Catalan architect ordered his masterpieces to be built in this city, capital of Catalonia.
This tour includes an inside visit of Sagrada Familia and external explanations of Casa Batlló and Pedrera, among others monuments.
The first stop will be done at Casa Milà, known as “La Pedrera” (The Quarry), which is a symbol of Passeig de Gràcia Boulevard and is considered one of the most emblematic stone and ironworks in the city. After external explanations, a pleasant walk will be done through Passeig de Gràcia, where there’s another Gaudí house, Casa Batlló, an apartment block which has an unreal appearance. The façade is covered with multi-coloured tiles and the roof uses glazed ceramic “scales”, following the theme of St.George and the dragon. The resulting mosaic will be surely the favorite subject for your camera to capture every detail and nuance.
After a brief driving you will enter the upper Eixample area where the Sagrada Familia Temple is settled. From the inside and the outside, guides will offer you a deep explanation of all the details related to the Temple.
Last stop before returning will be Montjuic Hill, in a panoramic view point to take the last picture before returning to the pier.
