Voluntourism: Red Cross Landscaping Project and Beach - CZK7

Royal Caribbean's community outreach program enables cruise guests to participate in meaningful community volunteer work. Beginning in Cozumel, Mexico, we have partnered with select tour operators and the Mexican Red Cross to offer guests the chance to contribute by assisting with the planting of shrubs and trees at the American Red Cross' new facility. Next, relax with a beverage and swim at Playa Mia Grand Beach Park. Proceeds from the sale of this tour will be donated to the Mexican Red Cross

Royal Caribbean's community outreach program enables cruise guests to participate in meaningful community volunteer work. Beginning in Cozumel, Mexico, we have partnered with select tour operators, and the Mexican chapter of the Red Cross to offer guests the chance to contribute some of their time to assisting with projects.

In 1983, a small group of volunteers joined together to form the local Red Cross Chapter and provided the first ambulance in Cozumel. Today, the chapter provides vital services for the island's residents and visitors. The Red Cross services the community with emergency response, medical services, lifeguard, first aid and other training, health education, and disaster preparation and relief.
Due in part to donations from local volunteers and others, the Red Cross relocated to a new facility in February 2010, however it lacks landscaping. As part of a beautification project, participants will assist in the planting of shrubs and trees at the new facility. Bottled water will be provided at the site.

Following your volunteer work, you will be transferred to Playa Mia Grand Beach Park where you can relax with a swim and complimentary beverage.

The price of the tour covers the materials needed for the landscaping and transportation to the facility with the remaining proceeds donated to the Cozumel chapter of the Mexican Red Cross. Royal Caribbean and the local operator do not benefit financially from this tour.

Please note that it is highly recommended guests wear lightweight clothing, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen and bring a bathing suit and towel.
