OVERVIEW: Ride along the mountainous Sicilian coast to the cliff top town of Tindari.
HIGHLIGHTS: Ride along Sicily's mountainous coast for approximately 1 hour to reach Tindari where you will see the Tindari Cathedral and its famous Black Madonna. You will explore the Roman ruins of Tindari's ancient archeological park.

Board your coach and ride through the mountainous Sicilian coast. In about an hour, you will reach the beautiful town of Tindari, perched on a cliff high above the sea. Your coach will park at the base of the hilltop and your guide will escort you up the quarter of a mile incline leading to the sanctuary of Tindari. Upon reaching the Cathedral Square, you’ll have a photo stop with a panoramic view of the Aeolian Islands and Cape Tindari.
Tindari is an oasis of peace and tranquility. It has long been a place of pilgrimage for Catholic faithful who travel here to see the Black Madonna. Your guide will tell the story of the Black Madonna and its unusual arrival along the Sicilian coast.
You’ll also have the opportunity to visit Tindari’s ancient archeological park. You will be escorted through the Roman ruins and homes of the original founders of this ancient city. You will see columns, arches and the amphitheater. Once the guided part of the tour is completed, you will have approximately 30 minutes of free time to enjoy the peaceful village on your own.
What to Bring:
-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard ship) and photo identification when in port
-You will need Euros for any purchases as foreign currencies are not accepted.
What to Wear:
-Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
-Hats, sunscreen and other forms of sun protection are highly recommended.
-Conservative attire with no exposed shoulders or knees is recommended. Short pants, tank tops and revealing clothing are not acceptable.

-Time permitting you will have approximately 30 minutes for shopping and browsing.
