Full Description:
Once your coach arrives at the San Rossore National Reserve, you'll board a motorboat for a narrated boat ride along the Arno River, which allows you to see the principal sights of Pisa’s historical center while your guide provides commentaries on the monuments and the city's history. During your cruise, you'll enjoy Italian ice cream.
At the boat ride’s conclusion, you will be transferred by trolley to the main square of Pisa, the Field of Miracles. Your guided tour of the square will include exterior views of the famous Leaning Tower, cathedral, and baptistry. You will then have approximately 45 minutes of free time for shopping, before being transferred by trolley to San Rossore National Reserve where you’ll rejoin the coach to return to the ship.
During the bus ride to Pisa, you will be provided with a map of Pisa and emergency contact numbers in the unlikely event you become separated from the group. Once in Pisa, you will be provided with bottled water.
What to Bring:
-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port.
-Camera and cash for shopping.
-Sun protection and sunglasses.
What to Wear:
-Comfortable walking shoes and light clothing are strongly recommended.
-Strict dress codes are enforced for religious sites and short pants, tank tops and revealing clothing are not acceptable. Shoulders and knees must be covered.
Important Notes:
-Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 mile over paved surfaces with extended periods of standing and waiting.
-Please note that you will not visit the interior of the Leaning Tower on this tour. Entrance to the Tower is approximately 17 Euros per person. Tickets have a specific entrance time and guests should be aware that this time might not be within your stay in Pisa.
-The cathedral is closed on Sundays, during special events and mass services.
-Photography is not permitted inside the cathedral.
-If you wish to visit independently the baptistery, the cathedral or Campo Santo, an admission fee is required, so plan to carry local currency with you.
-The coach ride to/from the tender pier to San Rossore National Reserve is approximately 50 minutes each way, subject to traffic conditions.
-The narrated boat ride is approximately 30 minutes and the trolley ride (each way) is roughly 15 minutes.
