Drive towards Novelda in the south of the Region of Valencia, famous for its vineyards. Enjoy its characteristic architectural and decorative style by which the city is known, like the Sanctuary of Santa Magdalena and the remains of the La Mola Castle, located in the same hill, where you will have a photo stop to appreciate these impressive monuments. Finally, visit one of its cellars and its installations, to taste some local wines and have some free time to purchase a bottle to take back home.
Drive towards Novelda, located in the southern region of Valencia and within the province of Alicante. It is famous for its vineyards. Their grapes are cultivated using new irrigation farming systems which has allowed Novelda to be one of the pioneers in land agriculture transformations.
Visit Heretat de Cesila, one of the regions well known cellars and its installations. There, you will enjoy a wine tasting. The present Casa Sicilia farm was founded in 1707 as a farmhouse dedicated to the production of high quality fruit, wine and oil during the era of the third Marquis de la Romana. Almost three centuries later, in 1998, the present-day wine-making project was started, thanks to the efforts of members belonging to the A.S.T. (Agrarian Society of Transformation) company no.5685 CASA SICILIA. Its aim was to produce a high quality wine, combining the best tradition and the newest technologies to achieve a unique result in the region. The winery and vineyard is called "Heretat de Cesilia" in memory of the former name of the present farm which is of Valencian origin. Located in Novelda, about 240 metres above sea level, Casa Sicilia has been a very important agricultural production center in the area of the Medio Vinalopó for centuries. It owns land throughout the Medio Vinalopó valley and includes the areas of Mola, Ledua, Sicilia and Alcaydías.
