Overview: Visit 3 of Hobart main attractions. Visit MONA and combine avant-garde art, coupled with The Source Restaurant, micro-brewery and winery onsite. Make a stop at Cadbury Chocolate visitor center and learn about the process of how Cadbury chocolates are made as you enjoy sample tasting before transferring to Richmond, one of Australia's most important historic towns. Richmond features landmark buildings constructed by convict labor under appallingly harsh conditions. Its well-preserved cottages, homes, shops and pub reflect life in an era long since passed.
The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is an art museum located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is the largest privately funded museum in Australia. The museum presents antiquities, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection. The museum opened on Friday 21 January 2010 having been described as "macabre and ungodly".
After 50 years of running tours on the factory floor, safety and health regulations put a stop to the popular Cadbury tours in 2008. Now, you can still visit, but are limited to a short film of the chocolate-making process, a chat with some of the workers or guides, and a gift of free chocolates (and the chance to buy more of course).
Richmond is a historic town along the Coal River, around 24km from Hobart. Richmond is filled with stunning Georgian architecture that has been well restored. The village has charming cobblestone roads, cottages and you can marvel at gems not found anywhere else in Australia.
