Full Description:
You’ll begin your tour with a drive through the verdant countryside to Ephesus. Upon your arrival at the Exterior Gate of Ephesus, your guide will provide information about the Ancient City of Ephesus from the outside. You will have free time for pictures and shopping at the upper gate of Ephesus while viewing the Odeon.
You’ll continue by coach for a stop at the Statue of Virgin Mary which is almost 3 miles away from the House of Virgin Mary, where the Blessed Virgin is reputed to have spent the last years of her life. The site became famous after the travels of Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedictus XVI.
Your next stop will be at the Lower Gate of Ephesus where you can find souvenirs and facilities as well as more information about the Ancient City of Ephesus while viewing the Grand Theatre from the outside. You’ll proceed to the Archeological Museum of Ephesus, where you’ll see the exhibits tracing the religious and chronological history of the ancient city. Filled with attractively displayed mosaics, statuary, and other artifacts, the museum exhibits several marble statues of the Mother Goddess Artemis, goddess of nature, childbirth, and the harvest.
You’ll proceed to the Temple of Artemis, which is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Temple of Artemis, the goddess of hunting and the chase, once stood around the bay of the Meander River. Today, the temple is considered as a holy place for pilgrimage. You’ll conclude your tour with a trip back to Kusadasi where there will be a refreshment stop and brief carpet presentation as well as time for shopping.
During the tour, you’ll receive a gift set, a map of the city, and bottled water.

-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port

-Insect repellent is recommended in July and August

-Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

-This tour is designed for guests with walking difficulties, are not able to handle steps or extended periods of walking or standing and who prefer minimal walking.
-The vehicle used on this excursion is a regular coach.
-This panoramic tour does not include visits/entrance to Ephesus Open Air Museum nor to the House of Virgin Mary.
-The Archaeological Museum is wheelchair accessible via a ramp at the entrance. However, some sections of the museum are not fully wheelchair accessible.
-Guests need to watch their step at all times in order to avoid injuries.
-Use of a motorized scooter is not guaranteed on this excursion.
