After, you will enjoy a carpet presentation and time to shop. NOTES: Guests must be able to walk approx. 1.5 miles and this tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties or using a wheelchair.

-Tour includes transportation to and from the ancient city of Ephesus and tickets to the Open Air Museum.

Full Description:
One of the best ways to get acquainted with any city is on foot. With a lightweight iPod® and a detailed map, this self-guided walking tour allows you to explore Ephesus at your own pace.  You will be able to listen to all the facts and receive detailed descriptions through your iPod® as you explore this fascinating ancient city independently. You’ll have the option to follow the suggested route or set out on your own adventure and explore the city with ease thanks to your map and audio directions.  Simply consult the customized map to find each location and then go to the indicated number on the player for a detailed description of the site and its history. 

You’ll meet your guide at the port and transfer to the site to receive your tickets for the Ephesus Open Air Museum as well was your iPod that is loaded with information about Ephesus and the different locations in this site. Once you have received your iPod, you will begin your self-guided tour of Ephesus. You can  learn more about the Odeon, the Agora, the Prytaneion, Domitian Square, Trajan’s Fountain,  the Temple of Hadrian, and the Celsius Library which was built in the 2nd century and was the third largest library in the ancient world. At the end of this street is the Great Theater, followed by the ancient Harbor Road which is also known as the Arcadian Way. In ancient times, countless important people walked this street including Alexander the Great, Antony and Cleopatra and Julius Caesar, as well as the apostles Paul and John and the Virgin Mary. 

At a designated time and meeting place, you will reconnect with your guide to return to back to Kusadasi. At the end of your tour, there will be a brief educational presentation on the history of carpet-making as well as time to shop. 

During the tour, you’ll receive a gift set and bottled water.


What to Bring:
-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port
-Camera and cash or credit card for shopping
-Sunscreen and a hat
-Insect repellent is recommended in July and August 

What to Wear:
-Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended. 

Important Notes:
-Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.5 miles over uneven and cobblestone surfaces with inclines and 10 - 30 steps.
-This is a self guided tour and the  guide will not escort groups in Ephesus. The guide will only escort the group to and from Ephesus.
-Guests need to watch their step at all times in order to avoid injuries.
-Due to the nature of this tour, this tour is not recommended for guests using a walker or wheelchair, or who have difficulties in walking, climbing, or managing steps. 
-The admission fee to Ephesus Open Air Museum is included and tickets will be provided upon arrival to the site.
-This tour has limited space and is available on a first come, first served basis.
