The cities of Tuscany produced many of the marvels of the Renaissance. Pisa, one of the greatest trading and sea powers in the Mediterranean during the 11th century, harbors much of this magnificence. You'll pass just outside of the port town of Livorno for a 30-minute drive to the once-powerful city of Pisa. Upon arrival, a short walk will take you to the Field of Miracles, where you will see one of the world's most amazing sights the Campanile, or Leaning Tower. Your tour escort will give you free time to explore on your own each of the magnificent buildings in the Piazza. During your free time, you can shop or take photos of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Participants are provided with a Pisa map.
Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 1 mile over paved and cobblestone surfaces with steps and extended periods of standing and waiting. The walking distance between the Field of Miracles in Pisa and the bus parking area is approximately 15 minutes each way. Entrance to the Tower is approximately 15.00 Euros per person. Tickets have a specific entrance time and guests should be aware that this time may not be within your stay in Pisa. The Cathedral is closed on Sundays, during special events and mass services. Photography is not permitted inside the Cathedral. If you wish to independently visit the Baptistery, the Cathedral or Campo Santo, an admission fee is required, so plan to carry local currency with you. An escort will accompany the coach to/from Pisa. This tour does not include entrance fees. If guests should miss the return bus, transportation back to the vessel is their own responsibility and at their own expense.
