This tour will be operated in English only.
You are set ashore by tender to the pier in the centre of Geiranger, where coaches and guides are waiting. The small village of Geiranger is one of Norway's best-known tourist resorts.
The coach climbs up the winding mountain road offering an ever-changing kaleidoscope of mountain farms, waterfalls, lakes and streams. From Lake Djupvatn (translated to English the name Djupvatn means ("deep lake") you will continue up the hairpin road to the summit of Mount Dalsnibba - from where you will have a spectacular view of the Geirangerfjord far below and the magnificent mountain peaks all around. From the summit, 1500 meters above sea level, you will drive carefully down the same road.
At Flydal Viewpoint you will make a stop to take a picture of the ship far down on the fjord.
Next comes a visit to Geiranger Fjord Center, with interesting exhibitions from the life in the fjord. The Centre offers you a chance to experience the living conditions the people along the fjords used to live under. The slide show "From Mountains to Fjord" shows fantastic scenic pictures from Geiranger through all 4 seasons, on a three-part screen.
Coming down to the fjord again you will continue to the North side of the fjord to drive up the Eagle Road to the famous viewpoint at the Eagle Bend. The Eagle Road has 11 hair-pin bends and is carved in the mountain side. From the top you can see the famous waterfalls "De Syv Sostre" (The Seven Sisters). Return to Geiranger by the same road.
Note: Should weather prevent coaches from reaching the summit of Mount Dalsnibba, guests will be taken to the Eagles Bend Viewpoint only. Tour order may vary between coaches.
