The tour will take you to Rosenborg Castle. Today, the castle houses the Crown Jewels and many other fantastic items belonging to the Royal family. From Rosenborg Castle, continue to Christiansborg Castle. which today houses the Danish Parliament and the Royal Reception Rooms where the Queen entertains her official guests. A visit is paid to the Royal Reception Rooms and the Knights Hall. You will continue past Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Royal Danish Family, the Royal Theatre, Town Hall and Tivoli Gardens. Return to the train station, stopping en route at the original location of the world famous statue: The Little Mermaid.

Copenhagen - the capital city of the kingdom of Denmark since 1417, has a long history as the "Royal" city of Denmark, having been associated with a long line of monarchs well before its proclamation as the capital. The location of the city, at the mouth of the Baltic and astride the trade routes between continental Europe and Scandinavia, made it the obvious choice for the Danish monarchs, who once reigned over Sweden and Norway also. Once the city had won royal favor, it attracted the barons, earls and nobility with their retinues. The traces of the wealth, which was concentrated in their hands, remain for all to see, in the form of imposing palaces, mansions and churches.
The tour will take you to Rosenborg Castle, built between 1606 and 1617 by King Christian IV - a prodigious instigator of building and construction work, who today is often referred to as the "builder-king". Today, the castle houses a fine collection of porcelain silverware and fine art, which have belonged to Danish monarchs through the ages, as well as the Crown Jewels and Coronation regalia.
From Rosenborg Castle, you will drive through the heart of Copenhagen, to Christiansborg Castle, until 1794 the home of the Danish Royal Family. After several fires, the castle was rebuilt between 1907-28 and today it houses the Danish Parliament and the Royal Reception Rooms where the Queen entertains her official guests. A visit is paid to the Royal Reception Rooms and the Knights Hall with its magnificent chandeliers and tapestries.
You will continue past Amalienborg Palace - the residence of the Royal Danish Family, the Royal Theatre, Town Hall and Tivoli Gardens. You will return to the main train station - stopping en route at the original location of the world famous statue: The Little Mermaid, the fairytale creation of Hans Christian Andersen, the world famous symbol of Copenhagen.

Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 mile over even surfaces with approximately 25 - 50 steps at each castle. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Camera and video photography are not permitted in either palace. Handbags, camera bags, jackets, umbrellas and/or backpacks are not allowed inside of Rosenborg Palace. Tour sequence may vary in order to avoid congestion at the venues. Extensive renovations and select/certain parts of the Rosenborg Castle may be closed during your visit. Please be aware that at certain times there may be a private audience with the Queen taking place in Christiansborg Palace (without prior notice) that may prevent the Royal Reception Rooms being visited. This is beyond the control of the local tour operator and Royal Caribbean.
