The Val de Saire is a table land of fields and hedgerows, pierced by the river Saire valley, which leads to the coastal plain. stop at Saint Vaast la Hougue, fishing port, yachting harbor, oyster production center and seaside resort all in one. The bay is protected by two fortified islands, with the famous tower of the fort giving the city its originality. You will have time for a walk along the pleasant harbor, and see the Sailors' chapel.

At the far north east of the Cotentin Peninsula, your tour begins along the coastline, which is here carved out of granite : at « l' Anse du Brick » , enjoy the great view over the Cherbourg harbor, then pass through typical Norman villages, view the Gatteville lighthouse, which is one of the tallest in France. The fishing port of Barfleur is famous for its lobsters: there, you will see the traditional granite houses along the harbor.

Then we stop at Saint Vaast la Hougue, fishing port, yachting harbor, oyster production center and seaside resort all in one. The bay is protected by two fortified islands, with the famous tower of the fort giving the city its originality. You will have time for a walk along the pleasant harbor, and see the Sailors' chapel.

On your way back through the countryside, discover the kitchen garden of Cotentin, the agricultural region where many vegetables grow thanks to a mild climate. Reach the hill of la Pernelle with magnificent view of the pointe de Barfleur. In the village of Le Vast, cross the river Saire and see the waterfalls, before returning to Cherbourg.

Note: Tour involves approximately 0.5 mile of walking over cobblestone and even surfaces with 15 - 30 steps. The drive to/from Cherbourg is approximately 40 minutes each way, depending on traffic conditions. Time permitting; guests will have approximately 1 hour (in total) at leisure Barfleur and St. Vaast la Hougue. Tour sequence may vary in order to control congestion at the venues.
