The Blarney Castle is 3rd to have been erected on site & was built nearly 600 years ago by Cormac MacCarthy. A footpath leads from entrance gateway thru a belt of trees & stream forms setting for stroll towards the castle keep. There you start the climb up steep, stone spiral staircase to top where Blarney Stone is situated. Enjoy views of Irish countryside, Blarney House & Blarney village. Note: must walk approx 300 yds from bus park. Walking at Castle is at guest's discretion but 0.35 mile is required over various surfaces & steps. To reach Blarney Stone (optional), steep winding stone staircase & tight passageway with approx 100 steps. Drive to Blarney Castle is approx 1 hr each way.

To reach the Blarney Stone (optional), there is a steep winding stone staircase and tight passageway with approximately 100 steps. Those with a fear of heights may wish to concede kissing the stone. Tour sequence and departure times may be altered to avoid congestion. The drive to Blarney Castle is approximately 1 hour each way, dependent upon traffic congestion.
