Full Description:
The state capital of Queensland, a major port and cultural center, Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city, with a population of more than one million. En route to the city’s war memorials, the bus tour will take guests past key historical and landmark buildings and properties, including Parliament House, the Treasury Building, customs House, Cultural Centre and the magnificent Botanical Gardens and many other historical and landmark properties.

The tour’s first stop is ANZAC Square, named for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp, consists of a series of structures, statues and plaques honoring the memory of Queensland veterans of wars, conflicts and peace-keeping missions. The focal point is the Shrine of Remembrance, with its Eternal Flame, was dedicated in 1930 to those who served in World War I. Touch-Tell systems explain to visitor the significance of the square, where World War II, and South African (Boer), Korean and Vietnam wars are also represented.
In a pedestrian tunnel, visitors can see honor rolls, unit plaques and other tributes, including a mosaic created by artist Don Ross from 140,000 pieces of Venetian glass tiles.

The square, located in the central business district, is filled with pathways, pools, and lawns, offers a peaceful respite from the city hustle.

The tour then continues to Mt. Coot, a point 230 meters above sea level, for unequalled views and photo opportunities of both the modern city center and picturesque suburban areas.
