Watch closely as Waterford’s maritime legacy, creative wonders and medieval influences come to life on a half-day outing that includes a guided tour through the House of Waterford Crystal and the Medieval Museum. A scenic 45-minute drive brings you to the head of Waterford Harbour where you’ll find Waterford City, the oldest city in Ireland. The city was not only an important trading post over 1,000 years ago, but today Waterford is perhaps best known for its glass-making industry. At the House of Waterford Crystal you’ll enter the blowing room and watch local artisans use techniques from the 1700s to mold crystal into shapes before they hand mark, cut patterns, sculpt and engrave masterpieces. Browse the gallery store for your own authentic souvenir before take a short walk over the Viking Triangle in the heart of town. Here you’ll step inside the Medieval Museum, exploring the 1,100-year-old story of the city. Discover treasures from the Middle Ages: 13th-century sculptures, religious relics, swords, old manuscripts, chalices and the oldest wine vault in Ireland are all on display for your viewing pleasure.
