Experience the beautiful display of colorful costumes, intriguing music and a unique dance style that is flamenco. Enjoy an evening panoramic drive to the Palacio del Flamenco in downtown Barcelona, where you’re welcomed with a glass of sangria. Then sit back, relax and enjoy an hour-long performance showcasing this popular Spanish art form which dates back to the late 18th century. Marvel at the dancers’ heel stamping (taconeo), hand clapping (palmas sordas) and the finger snapping (pitos) — all accompanied by virtuoso guitarists and talented singers.

The history of flamenco is often debated. Some say the Romani people of Andalusia used the style of dance as an expression of oppression, sometimes even without music. Some theories state the melodies have Northern African Arabic roots while others believe they’re of Indian origin. One certainty is that flamenco was developed in a type of underground environment, and in the early 1900s the dance style became popular throughout Spain. And during this performance, you’ll have a chance to see all of these influences, wherever their origin, fused into one unforgettable show.
