Watch as the natural wonders of Polynesia unfurl before you on a three-hour exploration of Tonga that includes panoramic views of Mount Talau, a guided walking tour of Ene’io Botanical Garden plus photo stops at two Neiafu historical landmarks. Atop a scenic lookout point near Tailulu College, take in spectacular views of neighboring islands, your ship docked in Port of Refuge, and the towering, flat-topped Mount Talau. At Ene’io Botanical Garden, stroll amidst the 22-acre property of Tonga’s only botanical garden, home to 500 species of native and exotic plants. A group of islanders also offer demonstrations on cloth making, jewelry making, pandanus leaf weaving and culinary creations. On your way back to Neiafu, Tonga’s second-largest town, you’ll drive by Pouono Park’s cemetery. Considered the birthplace of modern Tonga, here is where the Vava’u Code was first put into law and where many important locals were laid to rest. Top off your tour with a stop by St. Joseph’s Cathedral — the striking colonial-style whitewashed façade makes for a postcard-worthy photo.

Highlights:
• Mount Talau: Standing 131 meters above the Port of Refuge, this flat-topped peak is steeped in rich Samoan folklore.
• Ene’io Botanical Garden: Join a walking tour of the 22-acre property and watch cultural handicraft demos by Polynesian artisans.
• Neiafu: See headstones of notable islanders at Pouono Cemetery and admire the whitewashed exterior of St. Joseph’s Cathedral.
