This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the home of the Kremlin, Moscow. Accompanied by a St. Petersburg guide, you will transfer to St. Petersburg Airport for a 60-minute flight to Moscow and a full day of sightseeing. Upon arrival at the airport a local Moscow guide, who will accompany you during your time in Moscow, will meet you.
During your drive to Red Square, you will see how the years of communism have affected the peoples way of life and the architecture of the city. You will tour Red Square with your guide and have an excellent view of the world famous St. Basil Cathedral with its multi-colored onion shaped domes. This is also a perfect opportunity to take photos of the Kremlin Towers and Lenin's Tomb.
One of the more unknown attractions in Moscow is the metro, or underground transit system. You will take a short ride on the metro and will see how the stations themselves are richly decorated with mosaics, crystal chandeliers, and marble columns and walls. A quick coffee break at a local hotel will refresh you before continuing with your busy Moscow schedule.
The walking tour of the Kremlin will include the Armory Chamber, which houses a collection of unique treasures of Russia, including royal crowns, jewelry, and some of the priceless Faberge eggs. The tour of the Kremlin grounds and the visit to one of the Cathedrals will give an illustration of what Moscow was like when it was the capital of Russia, before Peter the Great started his reforms in the Western European styles.
Reboard your coach for a panoramic tour of Moscow, passing many of the city's famous landmarks. The tour will end with a delightful dinner at a prestigious city restaurant housed in an old mansion. You will be able to relax at the end of a memorable day with a shot of that Russian staple, vodka. Following dinner, you will return to the airport for your flight back to St. Petersburg and rejoin your vessel.
Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.7 miles over various surfaces and approximately 150+ steps.
