Hear tales of the early days of the Cuban Revolution at the City Curator's Office, which is dedicated to preserving local heritage. Then enter Moncada Museum, the former barracks where Fidel Castro and Che Guevara led an attack to seize weapons on July 26, 1953. Moving on to the colonial historic district, enjoy an authentic Cuban meal in a local restaurant before 50 minutes of free time to shop or stroll past the city's sky-high cathedrals. Atop nearby San Juan Hill you'll see the site where Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders claimed victory during the Spanish-Cuban-American War in 1898. Then finish the day at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, resting place for many famous Cubans including rum pioneer Emilio Bacardi, political hero Jose Marti, and Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban Revolution.
