Tour the most popular sites of the largest of the Dodecanese islands of Greece by motor coach and on foot during an unforgettable day in Rhodes.

This tour is provided by an operator that has been third-party certified to meet the Global Sustainable Tourism Council's Criteria for Tour Operators.

Highlights:
• Drive to Monte Smith, named after the British admiral posted there in the early 19th century to keep watch over Napoleon Bonaparte’s fleet, to see the Acropolis of Rhodes, including the Temple of Apollo, perched above an ancient stadium and theater. The Acropolis (Greek settlement built on elevated ground) dates back to the 5th century BC and offers a spectacular view of the town of Rhodes.
• Begin your walking tour in picturesque Old Town, inhabited by the Order of St. John, a Catholic military order charged with the defense of the Holy Land, from 1310 to 1522. Learn about the Agora, the open space used for public assemblies and as a market for goods, and the Collachium, the northernmost part of the Medieval City that formed its first line of defense.
• See ornate churches, the residential Jewish quarter, and the Inns of Knights before concluding at the Palace of the Grand Masters, built in the seventh century as a Byzantine citadel and rebuilt in 1930 to its original grandeur after being destroyed by an 1856 explosion.
