Tour Skagway’s historic downtown area filled with wooden boardwalks and false fronted buildings as your driver/guide shares stories about the famous and foolhardy who lived in Skagway during the gold rush. Your journey then takes you up 3,290 feet above sea level to the infamous White Pass Summit, which runs parallel to the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. Along the way, your driver/guide will share stories of hardships and daily life struggles the stampeders faced. Stop at the Yukon Suspension Bridge at Tutshi Canyon – where within a few steps you will be inspired by the beauty of this remarkable landscape. Listen to the awesome silence, interrupted only by the rushing rapids below the bridge. View three-dimensional interpretive displays detailing the history of the area. Let the exhilarating experience of crossing the suspension bridge, 57 feet above a class four and five river, take your breath away.
Your return trip to Skagway takes you to the Liarsville Cookhouse. The grill is fired up for a meal of wild Alaskan salmon, baked chicken, rice pilaf, a variety of salads, baked beans, cornbread and dessert. Enjoy the meal at your leisure. Shuttle busses are available to take you back to the ship when ready.
