Explore the arctic landscape on a trek with your “own” husky. Your tour leaves the city of Tromsø and goes on a 30-minute journey through its suburban neighborhood to the wilderness. Tromsø, the largest city in northern Norway, is considered one of the best places to see the Northern Lights, a majestic phenomenon of solar activity. The untouched forest isn’t too far away. Upon arriving at the wilderness camp, an experienced outdoor guide will help you get acquainted with the dogs. Your one to two-mile trek through the arctic landscape will either take you to the mountaintops or through its deep valleys and will be adjusted to your group’s fitness level. Let your new friend guide you into the countryside and soak up the beauty of the Arctic outback and the beautiful sounds of nature and breathe in the crisp, fresh air. You’ll have the opportunity to capture photographs of the awe-inspiring scenes, such as the deciduous forests with birch and pine and the pointed peaks of the mountains look like pyramids perched above the plains. The heavy precipitation covers them with snow in the winter, but provides wildlife like reindeer with a dense pasture to graze. Eagles, hares and ptarmigan are some of the other wildlife in the Arctic tundra. After your journey, head back to camp to enjoy a delicious chocolate cake and warm coffee or tea.
