You'll leave the port and be transferred by coach to the scenic spot called The End of the Earth or "Tianya Haijiao", literally translated into "the Remotest Cape on Earth". This is without a doubt one of the most well known attraction for domestic tourists and the site has been at the centre of Chinese culture and folklore for centuries. Lyrics of a popular Chinese love song claim: "Let's accompany each other until the end of time, until the end of the Earth." As such, the phrase Tianya-Haijiao has gone far beyond a mere reference to geographical distance but has become a symbol of friendship, love and life.
Upon arrival, you will make your way to the site situated near the majestic South China Sea. There, you will be led through beautiful gardens where you can discover sculpted trees and bushes and admire the splendid scenery. At the other end of the beach, you will encounter two huge stones on which Chinese characters have been written: "Tian Ya" (the edge of the sky) "Hai Jiao" (the utmost end of the sea). To the Chinese people these words carry a significant cultural meaning as their origin date back to a famous poem from the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Your guide will tell you all about the myth and legend associated with this enchanting site.
As a next stop, you will be driven to Luhuitou Park, which is at the centre of a fascinating local legend from the Li Minority group, the original settlers of Hainan Island. Your tour guide will once again be the story teller. Situated on a hill about 300 meters above Sea level, the park offers spectacular views of the Sanya area.
After spending some time admiring the scenery, you will board your coach and make your way to a local specialty shop where you will enjoy some free time shopping for the perfect souvenir. Note that this tour is mostly recommended for Chinese speaking guests.
Note: Guest's must be able to walk approximately 1250 yards over flat and uneven surfaces with some steps.
