Headed to Thrill Waterpark at Perfect Day at CocoCay? Here’s your guide to getting in on all the action.

Perfect Day at CocoCay, the newly reimagined private island by Royal Caribbean, is one of the cruise line’s highest rated destinations. Once you set foot on the island, it’s easy to see why — calypso rhythms drift on the breeze, sunlight dances on the harbor’s turquoise waters, and Thrill Waterpark’s towers loom ahead. But before you dive headfirst into all the slides and rides that await in that neck of the island, there are a few things you’ll want to know first.

1. HOW TO GET TO THRILL WATERPARK AT PERFECT DAY AT COCOCAY

Once you arrive at Perfect Day at CocoCay, you’ll have two different ways to reach Thrill Waterpark. The main entrance is located right of the Arrivals Plaza. It’s the fastest and most popular way to access the waterpark the moment you arrive on the island. There’s another entrance near Splashaway Bay and Oasis Lagoon that makes it easy to get back into the waterpark after some sun-soaked relaxation, a few Coco Locos or a play-break for the little ones.

2. THRILLS YOU CAN SHARE WITH FRIENDS

If you feel bravest with a buddy at your side, the other tower at Thrill Waterpark — Splash Summit — offers six slides you can tackle with a partner or in a group. Here you’ll find The Slingshot, which flings you and three other riders into the air, The Twister, a winding tube slide you can buddy-up on, and the four-lane Splash Speedway, which is perfect if you want to challenge your friends and see who can coast to the finish line first.

Slides aren’t the only attractions you can share at Thrill Waterpark, though. There’s also the largest wave pool in the Caribbean, which fits close to a thousand guests. The key thing to remember here is that when you hear the countdown clock hit zero, it means big simulated waves are on the way. And if you’re visiting the waterpark with kids, the Adventure Pool obstacle course is a must — it’s loaded with fun, interactive challenges to keep little ones entertained, like floating lily pads you can hop across, a rock wall and two swing ropes.

Most of the attractions at Thrill Waterpark have a height minimum of 42 or 48 inches, but both the Wave Pool and Adventure Pool welcome smaller explorers as long as they wear a swim vest.

Need a little R&R after all that adrenaline? Perfect Day at CocoCay doesn’t have a lazy river, but you can easily access Oasis Lagoon from the waterpark’s side entrance.

4. THRILL WATERPARK TIPS & TRICKS

You’ll need to purchase a day pass to access Thrill Waterpark. These typically cost about $139.99 if you purchase them ahead of your sailing, or $149 if you purchase them onboard the ship during your cruise. If you’ve purchased admission to Thrill Waterpark, you’ll receive a wristband as soon as you get to the park’s entrance. You can come and go as much as you like throughout the day, just make sure you keep the wristband on — you’ll need to show it every time you reenter the waterpark.

During your visit to Thrill Waterpark at Perfect Day at CocoCay, you don’t need to worry about keeping track of your belongings while taking advantage of all the slides and rides. The waterpark offers complimentary lockers where you can store your valuables — just keep in mind they are subject to availability, so it’s best to arrive early in order to make sure you get one.

There are also plenty of complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas around the park, so it should be easy to find a place to rest in between activities. That said, if you really want to upgrade your experience you can reserve a private cabana inside the waterpark. Cabanas at Thrill Waterpark come with attendant service and include access to all the park’s attractions and experiences for up to six guests, which means you don’t have to purchase admission.

Thrill Waterpark also has a Snack Shack right onsite. It’s the closest and most convenient spot to hit if you start to work up an appetite, and the food is really delicious. The menu includes lots of options to suit all kinds of diets and preferences, including crisp leafy salads, fresh fruit, sandwiches and finger foods like mozzarella sticks and golden fries — not to mention the legendary Shack Burger. Just make sure you save room for dessert. The soft-serve ice cream, fresh-baked cookies and gooey brownies are worth the extra calories.
