Now that the world’s largest ship, Symphony of the Seas, has debuted in the U.S. out of her new homeport in Miami, there are plenty of things to do for families, couples and groups of friends. No matter what type of crew you’re traveling with though, you’ll want to head to one of the most happening of this ship’s seven neighborhoods: The seaside-inspired Boardwalk.

Entertainment for all types of thrill-seekers abounds in this open-air area, starting with the iconic, hand-carved carousel (featuring unlimited, complimentary go ‘rounds) that kids and parents will love. As you head over to the opposite end, you can hear adrenaline junkies zooming down the Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea.

But there’s even more to the anything-but-typical Boardwalk—from an indoor and outdoor arcade and a candy lover’s fantasy to an amphitheater that houses the deepest pool at sea. (If you want to be part of the vibe all week, consider booking a Boardwalk-facing stateroom.) Let’s take a closer look:

Sugar Beach
First up, the new Sugar Beach candy and ice cream shop is the ultimate place to satisfy that sweet tooth. Young guests (and the young at heart) can take their pick from more than 200 confections and a lineup of ice creams, along with a few sugary surprises to top it all off. The sweetest place at sea also features a cupcake-making class for DIY bakers of all ages. Hit this spot for a pick-me-up any time, and you’ll be as happy as, well, a kid in a candy store.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade

One of the most celebrated new additions, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade has everything sports fans could want—including a chance to get in on the action. With more than 30 big-screen TVs, you won’t miss the big game while at sea, whether it’s Premier League Soccer or the NCAA tournament.

Enjoy bar-food favs with a twist, like popcorn shrimp with your choice of dipping sauces, a variety of sliders, the Playmakers fries with parmesan cheese (including a secret sauce), and of course, hot wings. Quench your thirst with cold, craft brews, and for dessert, try our signature Touchdown Sundae served in a commemorative helmet.

Up for some friendly competition to celebrate the W? Grab your friends and family, and go head-to-head in a variety of games— including giant Jenga and foosball, or arcade favorites like Ms. Pac-Man and Skee-Ball. It’s a guaranteed blast for the whole crew and sure to bring families together (when you’re on the same team, of course).

The AquaTheater

A story about the Boardwalk wouldn’t be complete without the AquaTheater: It’s easily one of the most breathtaking parts of the ship. Beyond the hair-raising, high-flying acrobatics featured in cutting-edge performances like HiRO, the space features the largest and deepest pool at sea (perfect for our daredevil high-divers), and open-air movie nights. Pro tip: If you’re looking for some fresh air and alone time, go during non-performance hours for a glorious view of the sea

Thrills for All
The attractions don’t stop there: It’s been said that high-energy kids are always “climbing up the wall,” and now they literally can with the colorful Luckey Climber. This multi-tiered, vertical maze allows young ones to explore and survey the sights from up above, all within a safety net. There are also rock-climbing walls and family activities like face-painting, balloon animals, caricature artists and live music.
