Take in the History
You still have the opportunity to learn about the areas you're passing through. Antarctica has no native people, but it was first discovered by Polynesian explorers more than 1,000 years ago. The Schollaert Channel that passes between Anvers Island and Brabant Island was rediscovered in the late 1800s by Belgian explorers. It connects Dalhan Bay and the Gerlache Strait, and the two surround a chain of islands called the Palmer Archipelago.
