Testing requirements vary by port of departure and vaccination status. Below are the published requirements for select ports. We are continually adding, monitoring and adjusting information on testing requirements as public health standards and government regulations evolve. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements for their port of departure before sailing.

 

 

Required Testing for Guests Sailing From U.S. Home ports including san juan, puerto rico

If your cruise visits Bermuda, test protocols for your cruise are in the next section. 

If you are on a transpacific cruise from Hawaii, protocols for your cruise are here

Guests 5 years of age and older who are not fully vaccinated must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise.

Fully vaccinated guests 5 years of age and older must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day on sailings that are 10 nights or longer only. Testing is not required for fully vaccinated guests on shorter itineraries. 

Guests younger than 5 do not have any testing requirements.

Required testing for all guests, regardless of vaccination status, can be completed using any type of PCR or antigen test. It can be professionally proctored by a healthcare professional, such as your doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. Home test kits are not required to be conducted under live video supervision. 

Tests must be arranged on your own and are at your own expense.

Required Testing for Guests Sailing from U.S. Home Ports with Stops in Bermuda

All Guests: Required Pre-Cruise Testing 

Before arriving on boarding day, you'll need to take a COVID-19 test on your own, at your own expense

  • Vaccinated guests must show a negative test result for a supervised PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day. Note: Kids age 11 and younger who have been vaccinated may follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests.  
  • Unvaccinated kids age 2 to 11 must show a negative test result for a supervised PCR test (not antigen) taken no more than 3 days before boarding day.
  • Unvaccinated kids' pre-cruise test cannot be taken on boarding day, because that may affect the sample taken during the kids' test at the terminal.

Guests under 2 years of age do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.

Required Testing for Guests Departing on a Transpacific cruise from the U.S.

Before arriving on boarding day, you’ll need to take a COVID-19 test on your own, at your own expense, to meet boarding requirements.

  • Guests age 5 and up must show a negative result for a supervised PCR or antigen test taken no more than 3 days before boarding day.
  • Guests under 5 years of age do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.

Note: Vaccination is required for all guests 5 and older on transpacific sailings.

Required testing for guests must be a PCR or antigen test completed under professional supervision. It can be professionally proctored at your doctor or drugstore. Telehealth testing at home is also accepted for vaccinated guests and must be conducted under live video supervision. 

Tests must be arranged on your own and are at your own expense.  

 

 

Required Testing for Guests Sailing from Barbados

Guests age 5 and up who are not fully vaccinated must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day, regardless of the length of their cruise.

On sailings of 10 nights or longer, fully vaccinated guests age 5 and up must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day. Testing is not required for fully vaccinated guests on itineraries of 9 nights or fewer.

Required testing for all guests must be professionally proctored at your doctor’s office, testing facility or drugstore. It can also be done through a supervised telehealth test, regardless of vaccination status.

Guests 4 and younger do not have any testing requirements. 

Required testing for all guests, regardless of vaccination status, can be completed using any type of PCR or antigen test. It can be professionally proctored by a healthcare professional, such as your doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. Home test kits are not required to be conducted under live video supervision.  

Tests must be arranged on your own and are at your own expense.

For Sailings that do not visit Greece

Guests 12 years of age and older who are not vaccinated or not up to date with their vaccination, must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours before boarding day, or PCR test taken within 72 hours before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise. 

Guests who are up to date with their vaccination status must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen test taken within 3 days before boarding day, on sailings that are 10 nights or longer only. Testing is not required for up to date guests on shorter itineraries. 

Guests younger than 12 do not have any testing requirements.

Prior to Disembarking

Guests 12 and up that are not up to date with their vaccinations will take an antigen test within one day before disembarkation day. Guests will be notified onboard about how to register for this test. The cost of the test is at their own expense, conducted onboard by a licensed third-party testing provider at a cost of $55 USD per test. Royal Caribbean does not retain any part of the testing costs.

Required Testing For Guests Departing from Australia

Testing requirements vary by port of departure and your age group. We are continually adding, monitoring and adjusting information on testing requirements as public health standards and State and Federal Government regulations evolve. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements for their port of departure before sailing.

Before arriving on boarding day, it is likely that all guests will need to take a COVID-19 test on their own, at their own expense, to meet boarding requirements in line with Australian Federal and State Government guidance.

We will provide information of any testing requirements via email, prior to your departure.

International Guests

Required Testing for Guests Sailing from Singapore

All Guests: Required Pre-Cruise Testing:

  • Unvaccinated guests age 5 - 11 must present a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day, for sailings of any length.
  • Fully vaccinated guests age 12 and older, do not have any pre-cruise testing requirements for sailings of 9 nights or less. On sailings of 10 nights and longer, fully vaccinated guests must present a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day. Kids age 5 to 11 who have been vaccinated may follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests.
  • Required testing for all guests can be completed using any type of PCR or antigen COVID-19 test. It can be professionally proctored at your doctor or drugstore, or it can be a test you administer to yourself at home without supervision.
  • Guests under 5 years of age do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.

Before arriving on boarding day, you’ll need to take a COVID-19 test on your own, at your own expense, to meet boarding requirements.

  • Vaccinated guests who are up to date will have more time to complete their pre-cruise testing. Up to date guests must show a negative result for a supervised PCR or antigen test taken no more than 3 days before boarding day.
  • Vaccinated guests who are not up to date must show a negative result for a PCR test no more than 72 hours before boarding or a negative result for an antigen test no more than 24 hours before boarding.
  • Guests under 5 years of age do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.
