Are there any instances where proof of vaccination would be required for sailings departing from Florida?

A

Some cruises departing Florida will require proof of full vaccination for guests 12 and up at time of boarding. In these instances, it is not a requirement of the State of Florida, but of the governments of one or more destinations on the ship’s itinerary. These governments may, at any time, implement a vaccine requirement for all eligible guests and crew onboard a ship in order for that ship to enter and dock at the country, for the health of their local community. Below are ports of call that currently have this requirement, which guests departing Florida will need to meet.

St. Thomas Proof of Vaccination

As of August 3, The Government of the United States Virgin Islands has informed us of their plans to implement a new requirement that all passengers ages 12 and older traveling onboard a cruise ship must be fully vaccinated in order for the ship to be allowed entry into St. Thomas. To be recognized as fully vaccinated, guests must complete a vaccine series approved by a governing health organization such as the WHO or U.S. FDA, entirely with doses from the same manufacturer, with the last dose administered at least 14 days before their sail date. This latest requirement will impact all cruise ships scheduled to call on St. Thomas in the near future. To comply with this requirement, guests ages 12 and older must provide documentation of full vaccination at the terminal as a condition to boarding.

For cruises departing Florida, guests who choose not to provide proof of vaccination to meet the requirements of the U.S. Virgin Islands will not be permitted to board the ship. Impacted guests should contact us at 1 (800) 256-6649. Guests under the age of 12 will not be asked to show proof of vaccination, but will be subject to our COVID-19 testing policy.

The Bahamas Proof of Vaccination

Beginning September 3, 2021, cruise ships will only be permitted to enter the waters of The Bahamas if all guests and crew onboard age 12 and up are fully vaccinated. This is an order of The Bahamas Government scheduled to remain in effect until November 1, 2021, at which point the policy may be updated. We remain in contact with local governments in the ports we visit and will update the policy accordingly.

For cruises departing Florida, on ships that are scheduled to enter the waters of The Bahamas on or after September 3, guests who choose not to provide proof of vaccination to meet the requirements of The Bahamas will not be permitted to board the ship. Impacted guests should contact us at 1 (800) 256-6649. Guests under the age of 12 will not be asked to show proof of vaccination, but will be subject to our COVID-19 testing policy.
