Get a sense of what South Korea looked like in 678 A.D. at the elaborate Beomeosa Temple — its three-story red pagoda is set at the edge of dramatic Mount Geumjeongsan. Then, head to Busan city center and stroll the white sands of Haeundae Beach. Alongside the shoreline, you'll find plenty of restaurants and shops — pop into a local bakery for eomuk, the crispy fish cake the region is famous for.
Travel Tips
1
Cards are widely accepted, but foreign ATMs can only be reliably found in Family Mart convenience stores.
2
The street food can be a little overwhelming at first, but overcome your fears and dive in — in Korea, this is some of the best food around.
Day 5 Nagasaki, Japan Docked from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
National LanguageJapanese
Currency AcceptedJapanese Yen
Explore the mix of east and west in Nagasaki: Start off your day at Oura Church, a Gothic-style church built in 1864 to harken back to Europe's Middle Ages. Then, visit Kofukuji Temple — dating back to 1620, it's the oldest of the Buddhist temples built by the community of Chinese merchants that lived here. Finish the day with a bird's-eye view of the city from the top of Mt. Inasa, and catch a glimpse of the sparkling sea.
Travel Tips
1
Getting around is easy in Nagasaki: The port is conveniently located in the center of the city, every major destination is connected via trams, and taxis are available at will.
2
If you'd like to save on public transport and taxis, spend your time doing a walking tour of the inner city.

Kobe has a melting-pot cultural allure that reflects its origins as a 19th century port city. The city is also all about its world-famous beef, served up by humble street vendors and Michelin-starred chefs alike. Once you've taken in the mountain views and strolled the historic streets, passing mansions once owned by well-to-do foreign merchants, catch a train to Osaka and eat like a sumo wrestler.
Travel Tips
1
You don't need to tip in Japan — save some cash (and an awkward moment) and only pay the amount of your bill.
2
It's easy to walk around Kobe, but if you want to speed things up, you can find a reasonably priced taxi rank at every train station.
3
If you find Kobe beef a bit pricey, go to the restaurants at lunchtime, when the meals are often cheaper.
Day 8 Tokyo (Yokohama), Japan Docked from 2:30 pm
Dive headfirst into the best kind of culture shock and catch a train to Tokyo from Yokohama. See iconic Shibuya crossing, where a dizzying array of pedestrian crosswalks overlooked by neon lights provides the ultimate urban sugar high. Or spend the day in nearby Kamakura — from the shore of its black beaches, you can spot the soaring bulk of Mt. Fuji.
Travel Tips
1
Rush hour in Tokyo is incredibly busy — give yourself some extra time to get back to the ship.
2
Taxis, trains and buses are all safe, reliable and comfortable ways to get around Tokyo.
3
Tokyo has more English-speaking people and English signboards than the rest of Japan, so getting around should be easier.
Day 9 Tokyo (Yokohama), Japan
Yokohama is the central gateway to exploring Tokyo, a once-humble fishing village that is now one of the world's biggest, most densely populated cities. You'll find an eclectic mix of traditional shrines and soaring skyscrapers lining these neon-lit streets. Walk the Rainbow Bridge over Tokyo Bay alongside the Yurikamome Rail Line, a futuristic, operatorless train system. Then, see old Tokyo at the Imperial Palace, an Edo Castle surrounded by moats and gardens perfect for strolling. Cruise to Tokyo and head to iconic Sensoji Buddhist Temple and pass below the massive red paper lantern of the Thunder Gate. Then, unwind in Yoyogi Park, a literal forest in the heart of the city, complete with Zen gardens and a gingko tree forest.
The cruise might have ended, but there are still some great activities to enjoy in the area. If you flew into this port, be mindful of your departure flight time and plan accordingly.
