Nothing punctuates a stellar getaway like incredible dining. You can sit down to a lavish brunch in the morning, refuel in between adventures or look forward to a memorable dinner filled with all your favorite flavors. Not to mention exciting, never-before-tried options. No matter how you look at it, you can’t have a great vacation without great food. Fortunately, dining is something Royal Caribbean has perfected. The cruise restaurants on board every one of the brand’s celebrated ships are foodie-approved and sure to satisfy any craving.
A popular fan-favorite cruise ship, Adventure of the Seas® is no exception. One of the top-rated ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, it boasts a food scene that rivals that of most culinary capitals. You’ll find a little taste of everything on board, including:
… and so much more! From specialty restaurants and cruise fine dining sure to elevate any meal to complimentary eats you can savor without splurging, here are the best places to eat when looking for the best Adventure of the Seas restaurants.
One of the top options for cruise fine dining on board Adventure of the Seas is Chops Grille. A hallmark Royal Caribbean specialty restaurant, it’s one of the most popular dining options and a perfect place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or other milestone.
The talented chefs here will hand-cut, season and grill each prime cut of meat to your specifications; you can always ask for their recommendation if you want to maximize flavor. And while steak is Chops’s claim to fame, it isn’t the only thing on offer that will wow your taste buds.
Equally impressive is the succulent Maine lobster, the perfectly grilled branzino and the chilled seafood tower — an impressive creation topped with green-lipped mussels, Jonah crab claws, jumbo shrimp and lobster. Make sure you order some sides; you’ll get to choose from options like Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, truffled French fries and the restaurant’s signature gruyere cheese tater tots.
Dessert is a fluffy key lime meringue pie or a classic, creamy cheesecake made New York-style.
When at sea, indulge in some sushi! Adventure of the Seas is home to a sushi-bar version of Izumi, another one of the most beloved cruise restaurant concepts by Royal Caribbean. Simply pull up a chair or barstool and get ready for a Far East flavor-fest.
Start your meal with izakaya-style appetizers, like Izumi’s famous shrimp firecracker spring roll. It’s golden fried to achieve the ultimate crunch and stuffed with spicy sambal chili, cool cream cheese, shrimp and crabmeat. Then work your way into the mains. Guests rave about the yaki-udon — thick, stir-fried noodles tossed with spices and your choice of grilled chicken, shrimp, beef or tofu.
The real star of the show here is the sushi. Choose a traditional roll or go all out with one of the chef’s signature creations. The baked snow crab and dynamite roll, for example, is a winner. Its champagne sauce, garlic-chili oil and fusion of cream cheese, cucumber and spicy mayo are out of this world.
Finish your meal with something sweet, like Izumi’s traditional green tea ice cream, ooey-gooey chocolate lava cake, crispy sesame balls or yummy mochi.
For a down-home taste of Tuscany served in an intimate and sophisticated setting, try Giovanni’s℠ Table. Another Royal Caribbean mainstay and one of the best cruise restaurants on board Adventure of the Seas, it feels like a true Italian trattoria, complete with a menu filled with hearty family-style favorites.
Start with an order of the house focaccia, served with marinated artichokes, earthy pesto and flavorful olives. Or share some cool antipasti — piled with prosciutto, salami, cheeses and more, it’s plenty big enough for two people to share.
When deciding on your mains, you should know that the pasta dishes here are legendary. Like the pappardelle, tossed with pancetta in a delicious radicchio cream, or the tagliarini, which comes with cherry tomatoes, bay scallops, calamari and pesto. That said, the non-pasta dishes are equally impressive, especially the tender veal meatballs and the grilled lamb chops.
One of the best places to eat in between onboard thrills is Johnny Rockets. The popular brand has an outpost on Deck 12 of Adventure of the Seas, right next to the Adventure Dunes mini golf course and across from Adventure Ocean® Youth Program.
It’s a great option if you’re craving familiar American favorites, like juicy burgers, hearty sandwiches, thick-cut French fries and, of course, creamy, dreamy milkshakes and floats. The Oreo Cookies & Cream shake is a guest-favorite; all the flavors on offer are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. If you can’t choose just one, ask the staff if they can mix and match two in the same shake.
One of the most exclusive cruise fine dining experiences on board Adventure of the Seas is Chef’s Table. This formal dining experience is a true VIP culinary journey, offered to small and intimate groups and led by the cruise ship’s Chef de Cuisine. Guests who score a coveted reservation are treated to an epicurean adventure that takes place across five exquisite courses.
Think scallop carpaccio with yuzu vinaigrette, smoked tomato soup seasoned with parmesan and sprinkled with focaccia croutons for a little added crunch. Maine lobster salad tossed with cilantro, pineapple and vanilla dressing. You could also try a grilled filet mignon paired with smoky, earthy truffle potato puree.
Every dish at Chef’s Table is paired with a unique wine selected by the ship’s sommelier to perfectly highlight and complement the flavors of the food.
You’ll be happy to know that you’ll find some of the best cruise food in the industry across the fleet’s complimentary cruise restaurants. The Main Dining Room is a perfect example.
A staple on board every Royal Caribbean ship, this upscale, multi-level venue elevates any dinner. Meals here are multi-course affairs paired with white tablecloth service, and spotlight dishes from around the world. Indulge in Moroccan-spiced ahi tuna paired with refreshing mint couscous. Dig into tangy duck a l’Orange, too.
Munch on a flaky Vidalia onion tart baked with heavy cream, smoked bacon and fluffy whipped eggs. Or ask your waiter about off-menu favorites and the evening’s rotating selection of global delicacies. No matter what you’re in the mood for, the chefs at the Main Dining Room always deliver.
The Main Dining Room’s more casual counterpart, Windjammer, also serves up a global flavor fest across its many stations. It’s open during breakfast, lunch and dinner and features a rotating selection of international cuisines and dishes. Stop by in the morning for hot coffee, tea or freshly pressed juices paired with breakfast and brunch favorites.
Think yogurt parfaits, fluffy pancakes, syrupy waffles and omelets made any way you want them. During lunch and dinner, it’s all about tender carved meats, handhelds, crisp salads and tasty international fare that changes daily.
Sometimes you’ll find a station serving up wok-fried favorites, sometimes it’s a spread of Middle Eastern mainstays or goodness from the Greek Isles, and on and on. Like the Main Dining Room, every bite at Windjammer is complimentary for cruise guests.
Another famous Royal Caribbean food concept is Sorrento’s Pizza, also complimentary for cruise guests. This casual, cozy pizza spot is no nonsense when it comes to making pies. In fact, Sorrento’s has spent years perfecting its recipe for crave-worthy pizza dough, and it never disappoints.
Stick to tried-and-true classics like cheese, pepperoni and Margherita, or opt for one of their signature creations. The meat-loaded Carnivore is a popular choice, as is the BBQ- and pineapple-infused Caribbean Dream. You can pair your pizza with a rotating selection of desserts and sides, too.
One of the best things about Sorrento’s is that it’s open late, making it the ultimate stop after a night on the dance floor at Boleros or the cruise ship’s nightclub.
Sometimes you simply want to enjoy a meal in the comfort of your room — after all, you’re on vacation, so order food from your room. Royal Caribbean has you covered with ’round-the-clock room service that offers whatever you’re craving when you’re craving it.
In the mood for a sumptuous breakfast in bed? Just pick up the phone and dial it in, or place your order the evening before. Craving a light-night snack or sweet treat? The team will deliver just what you need right to your stateroom door. It’s total convenience — combined with total culinary satisfaction.
These are just some of the many cruise restaurants available on board Adventure of the Seas. You can browse a full list of the cruise ship’s restaurants — as well as onboard attractions, entertainment, bars and more.
