For many, cruising isn’t just another vacation; it’s their preferred way to see the world — and Royal Caribbean understands its most loyal sailors deserve to be rewarded. Nearly every cruise line offers a free-to-join loyalty program that rewards repeat guests with increasing benefits, such as complimentary drinks, specialty dining credits and booking discounts, as they earn status.
For Royal Caribbean guests, the Crown & Anchor® Society is an award-winning program that has provided loyal cruisers with additional benefits for more than 25 years. The program was named the Best Cruise Line Loyalty Program in the 2026 The Points Guy Awards, while Royal Caribbean was named the Best Cruise Line for Families. That combination makes a strong case for families seeking value without compromising on fun, fine dining and a wide range of destinations to explore around the world.
This guide has everything you need to know to join, earn and make the most of your Crown & Anchor membership.
If you've ever noticed that some cruisers seem to get a little more than everyone else — a better cabin, a free drink package, priority boarding — there's a good chance they're not just lucky. They're loyal.
Cruise loyalty programs are reward systems run by cruise lines that recognize repeat passengers with perks that grow the more you sail. The basic idea is simple: The more cruises you book with related cruise brands, the higher your status climbs — and the better the benefits get.
Most major cruise lines have one, but they're not all built the same.
At their best, cruise loyalty programs deliver a mix of practical perks and experiential upgrades that make each sailing better than the last. The biggest differences come down to what a program actually puts in your pocket. Most programs reward members across a few key categories:
The catch? How much of this you actually see depends entirely on the program and the cruise line behind it.
Royal Caribbean didn't build the Crown & Anchor Society for the occasional cruiser. It was built for those who consistently come back.
At its core, it's a tiered loyalty program — free to join — that offers Royal Caribbean guests increasing benefits with each sailing. Unlike a standard points system, its key feature is its structure: The more you cruise, the higher your tier, making your membership feel less like a simple reward and more like a new way to experience cruising.
Loyal Royal Caribbean cruisers not only value Crown & Anchor but also base their vacations around it.
Every point you earn as a Crown & Anchor member comes down to one thing: nights sailed. You earn one Cruise Point for each night completed on a Royal Caribbean sailing — with bonus points for suite bookings and solo travelers paying single-occupancy rates. The more you sail, the faster your status climbs.
The program has six tiers, and each one unlocks a new layer of benefits:
Gold (3 points) – This is your entry into the program. Your SeaPass card reflects your membership, and you start enjoying baseline perks like drink and Wi-Fi discounts, Casino Royale® FreePlay, exclusive Crown & Anchor rates and access to the Crown & Anchor Loyalty Desk on board.
Platinum (30 points) – Perks start to stack. You'll pick up an invitation to a private event on 5+ night sailings (7+ nights on Spectrum of the Seas®), discounts on laundry and dry cleaning, a complimentary coffee with specialty dining and a bump in photo, spa and internet package discounts.
Emerald (55 points) – Another step up in status that comes with complimentary welcome waters delivered to your stateroom, and even greater savings on photos, along with all the perks of previous tiers.
Diamond (80 points) – This is where program recognition starts to feel meaningfully different. Diamond members receive four complimentary daily drink vouchers, Crown Lounge access and a free day of Wi-Fi. You’ll also receive priority waitlist access for seating requests in the Main Dining Room, as well as shore excursions and Vitality℠ Spa services.
Diamond Plus (175 points) – The perks deepen considerably once you hit Diamond Plus status. Expect five daily drink vouchers, two free days of Wi-Fi, priority seating at shows, a complimentary spa add-on and a 30% discount on beverage packages.
Pinnacle Club (700 points) – This is where Royal Caribbean pulls out all the stops. Six daily drink vouchers, unlimited Wi-Fi for one device during the sailing, free laundry, Coastal Kitchen access, exclusive breakfast at a specialty restaurant, flexible arrival and milestone cruise certificates at 700 and 1,050 points — and every 350 points beyond that.
The difference between tiers isn't just a color on your SeaPass card. For cruisers who stick with Royal Caribbean, the tiers can turn loyalty into a habit. That's what keeps Crown & Anchor loyalists planning their next sailing before the current one ends.
Beyond the extensive amenities, dining and entertainment available on board, the loyalty program also makes Royal Caribbean the top choice for family cruises. Some of the top perks members love the most include:
The best way to ensure your membership is put to good use is to make the most of the benefits available to you. Members have access to complimentary vouchers, discounted food and beverage options and priority or even exclusive access to experiences on the ship. You can quickly earn additional perks that you’ll eventually feel across your entire cruise experience, such as discounts on internet packages, spa treatments, laundry services, photo packages and retail purchases. And if you’re already eyeing your next cruise, booking while on board is another opportunity that typically comes with reduced deposits and the chance to earn extra Onboard Credit (OBC).
To earn rewards even faster, consider Royal ONE™ Visa Cards the ultimate path to unlocking greater benefits through everyday spending. With two credit card options available, you can redeem points through Royal ONE Rewards℠ and boost your points accrual when making eligible purchases on Royal Caribbean®, Celebrity Cruises® and Silversea®.
Points Choice is an easy way to extend your perks to other cruise lines. The loyalty matching option expands the possibilities of where and how you can sail as a family, allowing you to apply earned points to your preferred program: Crown & Anchor (Royal Caribbean), Captain’s Club (Celebrity Cruises) or the Venetian Society (Silversea). Having the flexibility of more than one cruise line to consider means more adventures to choose from, and even more ways to discover how far your loyalty can take you.
Crown & Anchor members must submit their Points Choice request before their sailing or up to 14 days after the cruise. You must also already be enrolled in the program to which you are requesting points be applied.
As a member, you can also take advantage of one-for-one tier matching across all three Royal Caribbean Group brands — Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea — through The Loyalty Status Match program.
This recommendation feels a bit obvious, but even the best of us can forget to take the right steps to earn loyalty points. With each new booking, make sure to add your C&A number to every Royal Caribbean sailing. This also includes cruise vacations on Celebrity and Silversea, if you want those sailings to help boost your Crown & Anchor status.
After each sailing, it usually takes Royal Caribbean 7-10 days on average to update your account, but the official policy states it can take up to 30 days. Just ensure you earn the appropriate Cruise Points for each sailing you complete.
