Every ship in our fleet offers plenty of onboard attractions to keep you busy in between adventures onshore. And Freedom of the Seas has long been a favorite among families and couples alike. It has even been called the best ship for first-time cruisers — and it’s been Amplified with all kinds of updated top deck attractions, thrilling teens’ and kids’ activities, palate-pleasing dining, and dazzling entertainment. From bow to stern, this original Freedom Class favorite will have you wishing you had more sea days to explore all the new discoveries that await onboard. Wondering where to start? Read our guide to the top things to do onboard the Amplified Freedom of the Seas.

1. Tame Some Waves On The FlowRider*

One of the most anticipated top deck attractions added to Freedom of the Seas during its Amplification was the iconic FlowRider* — a 40-foot-long surf simulator that lets guests shred waves all day long. If your balance is good, try staying upright as you coast over 30,000 gallons of rushing water. Or go horizontal and tame the waves boogie-style. If you’d rather watch, settle into the stadium seating that flanks the FlowRider* — just be ready to get splashed.

2. Conquer Twists And Turns On The Perfect Storm Waterslides

Calling all thrill seekers — get ready for the ride of your life. The Amplified Freedom of the Seas now boasts The Perfect Storm dueling waterslides Typhoon and Cyclone — two high-speed racers that will send you twisting and turning on a white-knuckle plunge down three stories into a pool below. Find your bravest friend and race them to the bottom on this epic adrenaline-amping top deck attraction.

3. Suit Up Against Yetis And Snowshifters In Laser Tag: Clash For The Crystal City

Also added to Freedom of the Seas during its Amplification was the newest glow-in-the-dark laser tag quest: Clash for the Crystal City. If you’ve got a competitive streak, you definitely don’t want to miss this new onboard attraction. You’ll get to choose a side — Yetis or Snowshifters — and battle it out on a glow-in-the-dark laser tag course as you race to claim a mythical ice city and save your clan from extinction.

4. Taste Your Way To The Far East At Izumi Hibachi & Sushi

Our cruise ships win awards for its world-class dining, and each of its ships offers a slew of must-try restaurants. That includes the Amplified Freedom of the Seas. If you’re a foodie, one of the top things to do onboard this ship is to sit down to delicious flavors from the Far East at Izumi Hibachi & Sushi. This specialty restaurant isn’t just known for its crazy good rolls — it’s also a great spot to enjoy dinner and show. Make reservations for a hibachi-style meal and feast your eyes on expert showmanship and tricks as a master chef whips up Asian-inspired teppanyaki dishes right at your table.

5. Wine And Dine At Chops Grille

If you’re looking to dial up dinner onboard Freedom of the Seas, add a reservation at Chops Grille to your list. A Royal Caribbean staple for more than a decade, this fan-favorite specialty restaurant delivers a classic steakhouse experience — with a contemporary twist. Here, hand cut steaks are expertly prepared and served alongside elevated eats like succulent Maine lobster, creamy mac and cheese, grilled branzino, and decadent desserts — all paired with bar-raising service and an extensive wine list that includes vintages from around the world.

6. Cue The Island Vibes At The Lime & Coconut

A great island bar is a cornerstone of every cruise vacation, and you’ll find few that can hold a candle to The Lime and Coconut. Added during the Amplification of Freedom of the Seas, this brand new multi-level poolside spot serves up all your favorite tropical cocktails across two bars as live performers and DJs bring the island vibes and jams. At night, this tropi-cool hangout becomes one of the hottest party spots onboard.

7. Go Behind-The-Scenes On A VIP Tour Followed By Brunch

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside the galley onboard one of the most revolutionary cruise ships in the world? This is your chance to find out. Reserve your spot on an all-access galley tour led by the ship’s head chef. You’ll get an insider’s look at how dishes are prepared, where ingredients are stored, and more onboard the Amplified Freedom of the Seas. Then you’ll get to savor an incredible brunch in the dining room paired with free-flowing sparkling wine.

8. Soak Up The Sun Poolside

If you’re chasing thrills, Freedom of the Seas offers plenty for adventurers of all ages. But you should still set aside some time to soak up the sun and the island vibes poolside on this award-winning cruise ship. Kick back with the whole family near the Main Pool and the Sports Pool — both are just steps away from the kid-friendly Splashaway Bay. Or if you’re craving a little “me” time, head to the adults-only Solarium. This tranquil space offers endless ocean views, lagoon-like pools and whirlpools, and plenty of shady spaces to unwind.

Whether you’re vacationing with your partner in adventure or the whole extended family, the Amplified Freedom of the Seas offers lots to keep you entertained during every sea day.
