Q

Can I decorate my stateroom door on a Royal Caribbean cruise?

A

Yes. Guests may decorate their stateroom doors with lightweight, non-electrical decorations that do not create an obstruction. Magnetic decorations are recommended as the safest and easiest option because they can be easily removed.

For safety and to prevent damage to the door or ship property, decorations MUST NOT:

  • Use lithium-powered lights or other electrical lighting
  • Cover or obstruct the peephole
  • Create a fire or safety hazard, including paper garlands, combustible materials, or powered devices
  • Touch, hang from, or attach to the door frame
  • Use adhesive materials, including tape, glue, stickers, Velcro, Command hooks, or similar products that may leave residue
  • Create an obstruction or interfere with the operation of the door
  • Damage, mark, or leave residue on the door, paint, or other ship property

Decorations are placed at the guest’s own risk. Royal Caribbean is not responsible for lost or missing items. If an item poses a safety risk or does not comply with these guidelines, the Housekeeping Team may remove it and notify the guest.
