    Venue Access
If you’ve sailed with us before, you’ll notice that we will sail with fewer guests onboard, letting you ease back into vacation mode. Since the majority of our guests will be vaccinated onboard, there will be venues and events restricted to vaccinated guests only. We’ll do our best to create opportunities for all guests to enjoy their time with us. Please note, your SeaPass card will be required to access lounges, shows and dining venues, so keep it handy at all times during your cruise.

See details on venue and activities access for Freedom of the Seas and Odyssey of the Seas.

    Masks and Physical Distancing
When indoors, CDC guidelines require all guests 2 and older to wear masks unless they are actively eating or drinking. The CDC does make allowances for guests to remove their masks in venues and events dedicated to fully vaccinated parties. Since so many of our guests are vaccinated, you’ll find plenty of these opportunities.

Masks are not required in your stateroom when you are with your traveling party, outside on the open decks, or at Perfect Day at CocoCay, unless in a crowded setting. We will update you if there are any changes to the CDC guidance for face masks.

You’ll find the entire ship and boarding process set up to allow for physical distancing, which is encouraged whenever interacting with those outside of your traveling party.

    Dining
In the Main Dining Room, which spans multiple decks, we will designate areas for everyone, including parents and unvaccinated children, and areas for vaccinated parties only. My Time Dining will not be available to parties that include unvaccinated guests.

Some specialty restaurants will be open to everyone, while others will be for vaccinated parties only. If you prefer a buffet, Windjammer will be open to everyone for breakfast and lunch, and the food will be served by our crew. We recommend that you make dining reservations via Cruise Planner before your cruise or the Royal Caribbean app onboard. Grab-and-go cafes will also be available for everyone.

    Bars and Lounges
Many bars and lounges will be open to everyone and others will be available to vaccinated guests only. There will be crew stationed nearby and signage to help direct guests.

    Casino
Given the casino’s physical constraints, there is not enough space to accommodate everyone. Given most of our adult guests are vaccinated, the casino will be open to vaccinated guests only.

    Fitness and Spa
The Fitness Center will have dedicated operating hours for everyone as well as hours reserved for vaccinated guests only. Salon services will be available to everyone but given the enclosed space and longer length of spa services, the treatment rooms used to provide facials, massages and other services will only be available to vaccinated guests.

    Entertainment
Entertainment venues will offer spaced seating and more showtimes throughout your cruise. Select showtimes will be for everyone and other showtimes for vaccinated guests only. Be sure to make show reservations once onboard using the Royal Caribbean app.

    Diamond Lounge for Loyalty Members
The Diamond Lounge will be open and operating at 50 percent capacity to allow for physical distancing.

    Adventure Ocean and Teen Lounges
Youth spaces will be open to all children and teens.

    Going Ashore

At ports of call, fully vaccinated parties may book a shore excursion or visit the port freely. Travel parties with unvaccinated guests that wish to go ashore, including parents traveling with unvaccinated children, must purchase a local tour through Royal Caribbean. We have worked with local tour operators to ensure they follow health and safety guidance that aligns with our Healthy Sail Panel recommendations. Shore Excursions are available at a variety of price points and may be purchased in advance on Cruise Planner or once onboard using the Royal Caribbean App. This policy is subject to change as we continue to evaluate circumstances around the globe. Vaccinated parents wishing to go ashore freely can visit our youth facilities once onboard to learn about drop off program hours and availability, and reserve time for their child on the day they wish to go in port.

    At Perfect Day at CocoCay

All crew members at Perfect Day at CocoCay are fully vaccinated. On the island, we’ve spaced out furniture and have even more frequent cleaning procedures, so you can get right to chasing thrills or slip into an island state of mind the moment you arrive. There are plenty of great tours and activities for you to choose from, but you won’t need to book any in order to go ashore.

    In Public Ports

All guests are subject to local restrictions and requirements in the ports we visit, such as local mask ordinances.

Vaccinated parents wishing to go ashore freely can visit our youth facilities once onboard to learn about drop off program hours and availability, and reserve time for their child on the day they wish to go in port.

Tours are not required for any guest to go ashore at our private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.

    Know Your Country's Additional Requirements

Below are the latest requirements for cruises departing from The Bahamas. Be sure to look into any requirements your own home country may have for exiting or re-entering its borders.

GETTING READY TO CRUISE FROM THE BAHAMAS On Adventure of the Seas

The protocols communicated here apply only to guests departing from Nassau, Bahamas on Adventure of the Seas®. We will continue to update these protocols as public health situations evolve. Guidance for all other departure ports is still in development with federal, state and local authorities. Booked guests will be provided full details specific to their port of departure prior to sailing.

    Vaccination Requirements

All guests of vaccine-eligible age departing from Nassau on Adventure of the Seas® will need to be vaccinated in order to sail. The requirements vary depending on the guest’s age and date of departure. Please see below for specifics applicable to your sail date.

For cruises departing Nassau before August 1, 2021: All guests age 16 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 when they arrive in The Bahamas, with the final dose of the vaccine completed at least 14 days before sailing. Guests younger than 16 don’t need to be vaccinated — but if they are, they have the benefit of following the more relaxed guidance for fully vaccinated guests.

For cruises departing Nassau on or after August 1, 2021: The vaccination age requirement will be lowered from 16 years of age to 12 years of age. Guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 when they arrive in The Bahamas.

All crew onboard Adventure of the Seas will be fully vaccinated.

Vaccinated Guest Testing Requirement and Mask Guidance

    Testing
As a requirement to board the ship, all guests age 2 and older will need to take a PCR test for COVID-19 no more than 5 days before arriving in The Bahamas. On August 1, this requirement will change to 3 days before your sail date, and any kind of negative COVID-19 test will be accepted (PCR or antigen).

Note that this is a requirement of Royal Caribbean for our guests, and is more stringent than The Bahamas Health Visa testing requirements for inbound travelers. Vaccinated guests will need to show a printed copy of their negative result upon arriving at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau, where check-in for the cruise will take place. Registration details will be sent prior to sailing. Costs associated with this test are the guests' responsibility.

    Masks
Vaccinated guests do not need to wear a face covering on the ship or at Perfect Day at CocoCay. While visiting public ports of call, please follow all local mask requirements.

Requirements for Our Unvaccinated Youth Guests

Vaccination is required for all guests of vaccine-eligible age to sail from Nassau, Bahamas. For those guests under the required age, we have designed guidelines with the help of our Healthy Sail Panel and The Bahamas government, to help keep all our guests, crew and the communities we visit healthy.

    Testing Requirement

Unvaccinated guests need to meet these testing requirements to enter The Bahamas and board the ship.

All unvaccinated guests 2-15 years of age (or 2-11 for sailings on or after August 1, 2021) will need to take three tests.

    1. Royal Caribbean requires these guests to take a PCR test for COVID-19 no more than 5 days before arriving in The Bahamas and present a printed copy of their negative result at the check-in hotel. On August 1, this requirement will change to 3 days before your sail date, and any kind of negative COVID-19 test will be accepted, PCR or antigen. Guests age 12 and older will also need to submit their negative PCR test result as part of the Bahamas Health Visa online application process, and again in person upon arriving at Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). Costs associated with this test are the guests' responsibility.
    2. On boarding day, these guests will take a complimentary COVID-19 test at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau, where check-in for the cruise will take place. Registration details will be sent prior to sailing.
    3. A final complimentary COVID-19 test will take place on Day 5 or 6 onboard. This result is required for re-entry into The Bahamas and can also be used for re-entry into your home country if needed. Additional details will be provided onboard.

Guests under 2 years of age will not be tested.

    The Bahamas Daily Health Survey

    • Each day while in the Bahamas, including while on the ship, parents or guardians of unvaccinated guests age 12 and older need to complete a short online survey about the health status of the unvaccinated guest they are traveling with. You can access the survey through the Royal Caribbean App, even if you have not purchased Wi-Fi onboard.

    Unvaccinated Guest Mask Guidance

    • Outdoors: Masks are not required in open-air areas onboard the ship or at Perfect Day at CocoCay unless you are in a crowded setting. Masks are not permitted in the pool or for any activity where they could become wet.
    • Indoors: Masks must be worn in all indoor public spaces onboard the ship unless seated and actively eating or drinking. Masks are not required in your stateroom as long as you are with your own travel party.
    • In public ports: Local mask and distancing requirements at public ports of call must be followed.
    • Guests under age 2 do not need to wear a mask at any time.

    Travel Documents Checklist

Guests sailing from Nassau will need to have the following documents when they arrive to board the ship.

Bahamas Health Visa: The government of The Bahamas requires all travelers age 18 and older to have a completed travel visa, known as the Bahamas Health Visa, to enter the country. Guests under 18 must be added to the visa profile of their parent or guardian. We recommend printing out the approved visa so the QR code is on hand as you travel into The Bahamas.

    • PCR Test Result: Royal Caribbean requires all guests age 2 and older— including those who have been vaccinated — to take a PCR test for COVID-19 no more than 5 days before arriving in The Bahamas, and present a printed copy of their negative PCR result upon arriving at the British Colonial Hilton Nassau. On August 1, this requirement will change to 3 days before your sail date, and any kind of negative COVID-19 test will be accepted. Unvaccinated guests age 12 and older will need to submit their negative PCR test result as part of the Bahamas Health Visa application process. We recommend printing your test result to bring with you on boarding day.
    • Vaccine Card: Vaccinated guests must bring their original hard copy of vaccination proof issued by their government’s health authority (for example, a U.S. CDC Vaccination Record Card) and be ready to present it to board.
    • Passport: Guests of every age must have a passport book (not card) valid for at least 6 months after the date you’ll be returning to your country.
    • Health Questionnaire: All guests must complete the pre-cruise Health Questionnaire on the Royal Caribbean App. It will become available in the app the day before you board.

What to Expect On Boarding Day

Making your way from the Nassau airport to the check-in hotel

    • To ensure an organized boarding day and testing experience, check-in will take place at the British Colonial Hilton, near the ship in downtown Nassau.
    • Royal Caribbean guests arriving at the airport on boarding day will have their luggage collected there for transport directly to the ship.
    • You can pre-purchase a transfer on Cruise Planner, or you may take a private taxi to the check-in hotel.
    • Wear your face mask at all times during the customs and transfer process.

    Getting ready to go aboard

    • Arrive at the terminal within the arrival time slot you selected during Royal App check-in. Onboard the Ship

As we return to sea, Royal Caribbean is sailing with fewer guests onboard, letting you ease back into vacation mode.

    Dining
As all dining venues will offer spaced seating, it is strongly encouraged that you make reservations for your onboard dining. You can reserve specialty dining and My Time Dining times before your cruise via Cruise Planner. Reservations for the Main Dining Room and Windjammer can be made once onboard by using the Royal Caribbean App or calling the reservation line. Windjammer will be open for breakfast and lunch, and food will now be served to you by crew members to avoid guests sharing serving utensils. If you’d like to dine with other parties during your cruise, you can easily link your bookings by calling us at 866-562-7625.

    Entertainment
Venues will seat at a spaced, reduced capacity, and to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy our showstopping entertainment, we’ll also be offering more showtimes throughout your sailing. Be sure to book your showtimes once onboard, using the Royal Caribbean App.

At Cozumel & Grand Bahama Island

Travel parties with unvaccinated guests that wish to go ashore must purchase a local tour through Royal Caribbean. All guests are subject to local restrictions and requirements in the ports we visit, such as local mask ordinances.

Tours are not required for any guest to go ashore at our private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.

    Preparing to Return Home

    Debark Testing
We will provide a complimentary test on Day 5 or 6 of your cruise for all guests age 2 and older. This test fulfills the requirement of The Bahamas that all unvaccinated visitors are tested on their 5th day in the country. It also fulfills the U.S. and Canada requirement that all incoming international air travelers be tested within the 3 days before their departing flight. Once onboard, we’ll let you know where to go for testing.

    Transfer to the Airport

    • We recommend arriving at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) three hours before your flight boarding time. Note that advanced airline check-in, via an app or other method, is not available in Nassau. Check-in for all airlines happens at the airport. U.S. guests will also go through a process to pre-clear U.S. Customs, so that you won’t have to go through the process when you arrive home.
    • Transfers from the ship to the airport can be pre-purchased before your cruise on Cruise Planner or once you are onboard the ship. If you prefer, you can also take a private taxi from the airport to the check-in hotel.

Shore Excursions are available at a variety of price points and may be purchased in advance on Cruise Planner or once onboard using the Royal Caribbean App. This policy is subject to change as we continue to evaluate circumstances around the globe. All guests are subject to local restrictions and requirements in the ports we visit, such as local mask ordinances.
